I’ve been eating at Ron’s since 2010! I would stop in after school was over! Back in the day I could get a small oxtail platter for $12, now it’s $22! I’ve seen the restaurant go through so many changes, but what has stayed consistent is the quality of food. The oxtail is by far the best In the city I’ve tried! I typically get the oxtail platter with white rice and cabbage! My other favorites include the jerk chicken patty, the snapper brown stew, and the bbq chicken. Once I like something, I tend to stay with it. The carrot cake and chocolate cake are to die for. The wait time can be long, prob because it’s pretty popular. The service can be improved upon, but all in all, I’m going for the food so I’ll deal with whatever. I’ve been eating here forever I figured it’s about time I’ve reviewed them.

I say this is one of the best restaurants in Philly. Their service is great, it was first time for me to try Caribbean food but they kindly answered all of my questions and helped me choose what to get. I love their Curry Goat with okra and plantain! And please try jerk chicken. Definitely the gem of Caribbean cuisine it is.

Update ****11/2/2024**** Let's get into these oxtails......... I haven't eaten here in over 5 year's. Today I had a huge taste for jamaican food, and Ron's appeared on uber eats. I ordered the oxtails, white rice, and string beans. I ordered a side of jerk wings, callallo, and a side of Mac & cheese. Also, a fried chicken wing platter. Everything was amazing. The fried chicken had a nice crisp & flavor. The oxtails were cooked to perfection, the gravy was so good that I could eat it by itself. The callallo was very delicious, the string beans had very good flavor. Ron's has my vote, I will order from them anytime and any day. ****update**** 6/18/2023 I ordered a large oxtail platter, and it was just as good the 2nd time. The large portion, the seasoned green beans, the food was very good.

My favorite spot to stop & grab a platter full to the top after church. Definitely SUNDAY'S BEST PLACE TOO EAT!! Oxtails, okra, rice & peas with gravy and baked mac & cheese. Side dish was plantains yummy

I ordered the oxtail with extra gravy, mac & cheese, and plantain. Two pieces of red velvet cake, and a bottle of peanut Moss. The ox tails were cooked to perfection, very juicy and tender. The cake was also moist. No complaints here at all.

Last week was the first time me and my daughter ate here and it was amazing!! The food was delicious and the service was great!! Also there was a long line but the wait time wasn't long and we ate there and I had enough food left over in my platter for lunch the next day!! I would highly recommend this place!!!!

Ron’s Caribbean cuisine the food is flavorful to every bite the service is always on point thank you for giving me a place I can eat everything 100 times over and have quality freshness and goodness above all other places thank you to this place and to the respectful hard working people who serve cook and give service there

I walk pass this place mostly like every other day and decided to finally order when I saw the long line. So say less this is must a try & def ordering again while I’m still around.
